Students wishing to apply to Saint-Étienne School of Economics (SE²) are required to follow a specific procedure depending on the chosen point of entry.
ADMISSION INTO THE BACHELOR'S PROGRAM
Students applying for the first year of the Bachelor’s program:
- General track : application via ParcourSup, select "Licence Économie" (Bachelor in Economics), Université Jean Monnet, Saint-Étienne (33 spots) >> Training ID card on ParcourSup
- International track : selective admission via ParcourSup, select "Licence Économie, international track" (Bachelor in Economics, International track), Université Jean Monnet, Saint-Étienne. (30 spots) >> Training ID card on ParcourSup

- International student (who are not part of the European Union or exchange programs) : for foreign students with international degrees, applications must be filed via Etudes en France (65 countries are part of this process). All other candidates must apply on eCandidat. No admission file submitted in any other way will be accepted.

TUITION FEES
Tuition fees are set each year by the French Ministry for Higher Education and Research.
Fees for French students (2025-2026):
- Bachelor’s degree: €178
- Master’s degree: €254
- PhD: €397
- Contribution to student and campus life: €105
Fees for international students (2025-2026):
- Bachelor’s degree: €2,895
- Master’s degree: €3,8941
FINANCING YOUR STUDIES
A number of scholarships, grants and bursaries are available for SE² students.
For students in the third year of the bachelor’s programme and in the first and second years of the master’s programme:
- Scholarships awarded for academic achievement for students in the third year of the bachelor’s programme who followed the integrated foundation cycle.
- Mobility grants may be awarded to support students studying abroad.
- Access grants based on criteria such as low household income (applications via the CROUS).
For foreign students:
- Under certain circumstances, foreign students may be granted an exemption from paying international fees (if this is granted, they will be required to pay the same fees as French students).
- Inward mobility grants may be awarded to support students from abroad.
Doctoral grants:
- Grants are available for doctoral studies (PhD funding). The application for funding is included in the doctoral programme. There are no particular administrative steps to follow. The doctoral school selection committee meets in early July to award grants to the best applicants in the second year of the master’s programme.
